Bully Alert Week - September 8th - September 12th
Every year Tubman coordinates a week to highlight the important issue of Bullying. During this week, we have planned fun themes and activities that focus on this important issue. Our goal is to educate our students to be alert and to report issues of bullying to an adult. Through education, support and modeling bully free behaviors, we hope that all students will have a safe environment to achieve their best while at school. With the help and support of our students, parents, teachers and Tubman village as a whole we will: Stop Bullying at Tubman.

Please show your support for a bully free campus by participating in the following events scheduled for this important week:

Monday - Purple Shirt Day - Wear a purple shirt and stay true against bullying

Tuesday - 70's Dress Up Day - Say "Peace Out" to bullying

Wednesday - Bring 2 Canned Goods and Get Free Dress - Food Drive against bullying

Thursday - Wear Neon Colored Shirts - Show you are Alert for bullying

Friday - Wear funny glasses - “I’m On The Lookout For Bullying”
Please join me, on Wednesday, August 27th at 4:30 pm in the school auditorium for Coffee Talk with the Principal. If you were unable to attend the Coffee Talk this morning, this is another opportunity for parents to come and meet me, talk about the school, address any concerns or issues parents have and to allow for a questions and answer session. I look forward to seeing you there!
Tubman is proud to announce the search for a new Principal is over. Upon the recommendation of the PDC, the Governance Board has contracted with Mr. Jeff Moore to become Principal of our school effective immediately. Through the hiring process Mr. Moore has had the opportunity to meet with staff members, participate in team building activities and attend our annual bbq to ensure his appointment would be seamless and a good fit for our school. We could not be more pleased by the warm welcome Mr. Moore and his family received at our hugely successful welcome back bbq this last Friday. Please help us welcome Mr. Moore to our village and to our Tubman Team.
Regular Board Meeting 08-11-2014
In the Library at 4PM
We are so excited to get this school year started! Tubman will be hosting our annual "Welcome Back barbecue" for all new and returning Tubman families on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. We will be providing food, a jumpy slide, music, a fashion show on proper uniforms for student, introducing new staff members and unveiling the exciting changes to the school that have taken place over the Summer. Please remember that Extended Day Program packets that were mailed to all accepted EDP families MUST be completed and returned to Ms. Venessa at the BBQ. Also, we anticipate having the student rosters up for parent review and the opportunity to get to know your child's new teacher for the upcoming school year. We are looking forward to seeing you all there!
The committee has completed the second round of interviews and has selected Jeff Moore to move to a third interview with all the Tubman staff members. This interview will be held in a town hall fashion and will be a question and answer session. The Governance Board is hopeful to have a new principal in place for the start of the 2014-2015 school year.
