8th Grade AVID Standout
HTVCS nominated an outstanding 8th grade student from the AVID Elective program to be recognized as the 8th Grade AVID Standout. The student, parents, and teachers attended a ceremonial night in May hosted by the San Diego County Office of Education.
Layney is a dedicated student who works hard to stay on task. She goes above and beyond what is asked of her, turning in extra work or making sure she didn't miss anything. Her attitude is consistently positive and kind hearted, and offering to help those around her when needed. She is not afraid to ask questions and clarify her understanding. She is great role model for other students to follow and has the potential to be a leader as she moves on to high school.
